- those new to working on our clusters
- those experienced with other HPC systems who are new to Hunter
Introduction to Supercomputing at HLRS
HLRS provides leading high-performance computing resources to academic and industrial users across Germany and Europe. This introductory course helps users get productive on our systems, covering the essentials of working on the HLRS clusters from your first login to submitting and managing batch jobs. It is aimed at HLRS users who are new to working on the clusters; no prior cluster experience is assumed, only basic familiarity with a computer.

Das sollten Sie mitbringen
The course is aimed at beginners. No prior knowledge of Linux, programming, or HPC is required.
A working HLRS account is required for the hands-on sessions. Before attending, make sure the following steps are complete:
- Your project supervisor has set up an account for you
- You have submitted your completed user form to accounting-info(at)hlrs.de (and sent the original per post)
- You have set up two-factor authentication
- Your IP address is registered at HLRS, or you have VPN access set up
